Join Wikitution.org to write our european constitution
It is time to write a free and democratic European constitution to save Europe from falling apart and to make Europe a democratic unity. We believe that a constitution should be written by the citizens, not by European officials, who are bound to their national politics. In fact: what we observed in the last years was a short-sighted, narrow-minded horse-trade of politicians without any vision. Our institutions are paralysed due to structures suitable for six member states but not for 27. When politicans and bureaucrat are unable to solve the vital questions of our future, the decision must be made by the sovereign – the people of europe. But we just don't want to say 'yes' or 'no'. We want to write our own european constitution!

Our mission
We believe that Europe needs a free and democratic constitution written by citizens of Europe and accepted by the huge majority of all citizens in the European Union. Wikitution.org provides tools to write a constitution from scratch and to discuss, explain and rate each paragraph.
The citizens of France and the Netherlands rejected the constitution for many reasons. The text is too long, too complicated and too bureaucratic. It is a constitution written by states not by citizens. In fact it was a treaty between the member states of the EU.
Where are the the old MediaWiki-pages?
This project was run with Mediawiki, which is the software used by Wikipedia and other projects. There were spam bot attacks, which caused a lot of work. Mediawiki was not really suitable for our means so we decided to relaunch Wikitution with Plone, a very advanced open source content management system. You can have a look at the old project under this link.
